Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 September 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Game2Join platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
2. Eligibility
Game2Join is for adults only. You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account or use the platform. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Description of Service
Game2Join is a peer-to-peer platform connecting football players with game organisers. We provide the technology for players to find games and pay for their places, and we handle the payment between player and organiser.
4. Payments
When you pay for a game, your payment is collected and processed by Stripe, our payment processor. The organiser is paid after the game has been played, once the reporting window for that game has passed. If an organiser cancels a game, every player is refunded in full, automatically.
The price shown at checkout includes a booking fee retained by Game2Join. This fee is refunded in full, along with the rest of the price, when a player drops out more than 24 hours before kick-off.
If a game is full, you can join the waitlist. Joining the waitlist authorises a payment on your card, but you are not charged. You are only charged if a spot opens up and you are moved into the game. If a spot opens up within two hours of kick-off, it is not filled from the waitlist automatically, and you are not charged. If you are never moved into the game, the authorisation is released and no money is taken from you.
5. Reporting a Game That Didn't Happen
If a game didn't happen -- the organiser never turned up, the pitch wasn't actually booked, or the game simply never took place -- you can report it from the game page. For a short window after a game's kick-off time, the organiser has not yet been paid for it. If a game is reported during that window, we may hold the organiser's payment while we look into it, and may refund players instead of paying the organiser. This is the same reporting window in both directions: it stops players paying for a game that never happened, and stops an honest organiser's payout being sent out before there has been a fair chance to raise a problem.
6. Drop Out Policy
Players may drop out of a game. If you drop out more than 24 hours before kick-off, you will automatically receive a full refund, including the booking fee. If you drop out within 24 hours of kick-off, your payment is refunded only if a player from the waitlist takes your spot; otherwise it is not refunded. This policy is the same for every game on the platform and cannot be changed by an organiser.
7. What Game2Join Is, and Is Not, Responsible For
Game2Join provides the technology, the bookings and the payments. The organiser arranges the game, books the pitch, and runs it. Game2Join is not present at any game, does not supervise it, does not vet pitches or venues, and does not check any player's fitness, medical condition or insurance.
Football is a physical contact sport. By taking part in a game booked through Game2Join, you accept that risk and are responsible for your own health and safety, and for deciding for yourself whether you are fit to play. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
8. Cancellation Rights (Cooling-Off Period)
Online purchases in the UK normally come with a 14-day right to change your mind. Because booking a game is for a leisure activity on a specific date, this right does not apply once your booking is confirmed. The drop-out policy in Section 6 sets out when you can get a refund instead.
9. User Conduct
You agree to treat all community members with respect. Abusive behavior, both online and on the pitch, may result in permanent bans from the platform.
10. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or permanently ban an account that breaches these Terms -- for example, abusive behaviour, unsafe conduct, or fraudulent use of the platform. While your account is suspended, you cannot create or join games. Any open game you are hosting is cancelled and every player is refunded in full. Any payout owed to you that has not yet been paid is placed on hold pending review; a payout you have already received is not affected.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. If you have already paid for a game before an update, the terms that applied when you paid are the ones that cover that game. Anything you do on the platform afterwards is covered by the current version.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
